No Limit Street Art Borås 3rd edition

January 20, 2017By No Limit BoråsPressrelease

In 2014 and 2015 No Limit Street Art attracted great attention globally with international media representation. Now it´s time again and 3rd to 10th of September 2017 the city of Borås will once again get new pieces of art in the public space.

Extended dates
Earlier the festival has been held for four days, Thursday to Sunday. This year it will be doubled, eight days, Sunday to Sunday. The artists are arriving from all over the world and more days offer greater flexibility.

– With more days we want to extend the festival and the experience. Somehow there will be a soft start and this way the artists can start their creative process different days without any of our visitors missing anything. From earlier years we´ve learnt that many of our visitors are here to follow the complete process, from a blank wall to a finished piece of art. The festival will escalate during the week, with more and more events connected to street art, and the last days there will be full action everywhere, says Stina Hallhagen, project manager No Limit Street Art.

Once again Shai Dahan will curate the festival
Street artist Shai Dahan moved to Borås 2010. In 2012 his solo exhibition at Borås Musuem of Modern Art along with his participation i Borås International Sculpture Biennial where he painted one of Borås first murals. Shai also contributed in the project United Buddy Bears – the minis during the christmas period the same year. No Limit is originally an initiative by Shai who also have curated the festivals since the beginning. So will be the case even this year.

– I´m really happy to be able to do this again. No Limit is like my third baby and the street art culture and the city of Borås has kind of grown together in recent years. It still amazes me to see pictures from the murals and well known places in Borås represented in street art and contemporary art magazines from around the globe. Everytime I do get a smile in my face and think we really changed something about the city, fundamentally, says Shai.

No Limit is an outdoor art event inviting artists from around the world to participate in turning public spaces into an outdoor exhibition. The event is about all kinds of street art, from large scale murals to street art sculptures and installations. No Limit first saw the world in September 2014. 2015 we did it again, once again we´re looking forward to welcome you to Borås, Sweden 3rd-10th of September 2017.
